Hands On Labor started in 1990 when San Diego's event and construction industries needed something the big temp agencies couldn't deliver: workers who actually knew what they were doing.

We weren't built in a corporate office. We were built on loading docks, concert stages, and construction sites — learning firsthand what it takes to staff jobs where showing up late or sending the wrong crew isn't an option.

Three decades later, that hands-on DNA hasn't changed. We still vet every worker personally. We still answer the phone at 2 AM when a show needs emergency hands. And we still treat every call like our reputation is on the line — because it is.

In this industry, bigger isn't always better. All of our staff are full W-2 employees, not 1099 independant contractors. Plus we dont just see a request for 5 workers and send out the first 5 we can find. Our first priority is matching each assignment to the most qualified crew possible.
